Giovanni Maranghi, born 1955 in Florence, is a well-known artist who expresses himself through enthralling techniques and philosophical motifs.

It is easy to fall in love with his figures and the dream and fantasy world where his paintings takes us. His characters are actors in the great drama and/or comedy of life, and their roles are never the same. He keeps the metaphors, the dreams, wishes and feelings very much alive.

In his works Giovanni uses a variety of techniques and display different styles of painting, such as the classical where he work with oil paint and different kinds of stucco/moldings and collage, which takes a long time to produce. Further there is the “encausto” (a form of engraving), an ancient painting technique where pigments are mixed with wax, kept liquid and are put on the surface using a brush or a spatula and then fixed with hot tools of metal, creating marbling effects and contours. Another technique which he use in many of his work is the “resina” where the base is a form of drip painting, used for outlining contours, over which a synthetic resin which hardens irreversibly is layered leaving a transparent and glossy surface.

Recent exhibitions
2012: “Tatiana Tournemine” gallery in Paris with the jewel designer Jade Jagger, daughter of Mick Jagger.
The last appointment of the year is the first exhibition dedicated to the painter presented by the “Senzalimite Arte” gallery, in Colle Val d’Elsa.
2013: Soon after Easter 2013 he exposes at Galerie Plexus in Montreau, to end with this last solo exposition named Casta Diva,inside “Sala delle Colonne“ in Pontassieve, presented by prof.Antonio Natali, Director of the Uffizi Gallery of Florence

SOME WORDS ABOUT THE ARTIST
Luigi Christopher Veggetti Kanku lives and works in Brianza. He studied graphic design at I.T.C.S. GADDA in Paderno Dugnano, where he opened his first art exhibition in 1999. Over the next three years, he refined his technique in the atelier of Uboldo, under the supervision of master artist Vanni Santarelli. In 2002 he started his first important collaborations with art galleries, who began to invest in the upcoming talent. From 2003 to 2010 he took part in many solo and group art shows, gaining recognition on both national and international levels. The positive response from both the public and critics attracted the attention of the Mondadori publishing house: in September 2010 Mondadori published his first catalogue, “30 Tele” (edited by Laura Luppi), which was distributed throughout Italy. In 2012, the Allemandi publishing house began an important new project – an imprint dedicated to Italian cities, as seen by the artist. The first volume (edited by Enrico Mattei) will published in autumn of that year.

Yes Baby! photo exhibition with photographer Jesper PMAN Petersson (SE).
The opening of the photo exhibition Yes Baby! will feature a special event with swedish live models and the release of the exclusive book about the Yes Baby! project. Jesper has been working 3 years to complete this project. Exhibition ends 8 December.

About the Yes Baby! project
In this project Jesper sets out to explore the state where we are using each other or are being used. Society and our way of living can be looked upon as a form of relationship or marriage where men and women often respond to each other’s needs with: Yes Baby!, without reflecting on their own inner feelings and needs. His photographs in Yes Baby!, reflect on how we are “building” our bodies and images of ourselves to please, and how we think others wants us to be, act or to be seen.

During the Berlin Art Week de freo gallery BERLIN will show a selection of our artists and introducing the Swedish-British award-winning portrait painter Johan Andersson. We will show a selection of his new series called “Brand For Life”. Without condemning the western culture he wants in this series remind us of the realities and affects of our consumerism (oil painting “Thirld world haitian girl holding $ 600 Gucci bag” featured).

Short info on Johan Andersson

After graduating from Central St.Martins in 2008 Johan Andersson became the youngest ever person to be shortlisted for the British Portrait Award and named as The Independent’s top 20 Artists 2008. His selected work was displayed at the National Portrait Gallery and in the same year he was also selected for the Jerwood Contemporary Painters prize.

Johan Andersson was born 1986 in Sweden. He moved to England in 1995. After graduating from Central St.Martins in 2008 he became the youngest ever person to be shortlisted for the BP Portrait Award and named as The Independent’s top 20 Artists 2008. His selected work was displayed at the National Portrait Gallery and in the same year he was also selected for the Jerwood Contemporary Painters prize.

Since then Andersson has gone onto exhibit work along side artists including Anish Kapoor, Tracy Emin, Sarah Lucas, Gavin Turk and Howard Hodgkin, and in 2010 was selected to exhibit work in support of BreakThrough Breast Cancer at The V&A Museum.

He has exhibited and sold on the international art market including The Scope Art Fair in Basel and Cutlog in Paris. His work has also been displayed in major London Underground stations including Bond Street, Baker street and South Kensington.

In 2010 Andersson was selected by Sky Arts as the ‘one to watch’ young British Contemporary Artist to feature on a 6 week Documentary called ‘Art of Survival’ broadcasted July 2011.

In late July 2011 Andersson received a posthumous public commission to paint Amy Winehouse.

The climax of the STOLEN FACES series was a solo show at the elusively private Long Gallery of Englefield house in May 2012 where the paintings of individuals marginalised by society replaced 17th century portraits of prominent earls and countesses.

An exhibition where you will be impressed by the artist’s technique using various materials and metals. Matthew Broussard, who is a true impressionist, has developed a technique where he lets the eyes of the onlooker complete the picture. You see what he sees, but it is your own mind that completes the motifs. He is an artist who has worked with and for big celebrities, especially in the US.

An exhibition expressing joy and color. Matteo Giuntini works with a well developed technique mixing several different materials such as air brush in oil and acrylic, a sort of gumming, fluorescent colors, and stirring effects for instance with tape and various canvas material.His first big impact on the art scene was at Art Basel 6 years ago.
